Once again our fun ride had a
beautiful day. The sun shone down and riders arrived from near and far.
Bolton Countryside Rangers, in
their true spirit, did us proud. The route was clearly marked and stewards
directed riders safely across any roads that had to be crossed. Many
thanks to Richard and his volunteers.
As we left Smithills Coaching
House and rode the delightful route many riders commented on the efficient
organisation and how it was making the day very enjoyable. Chatting happily,
every rider smiled for the camera (see the photo gallery) and couldn't wait to
get going and try out the new sections of bridleway. Some walked, some trotted
and some even managed a sneaky canter in safe surroundings away from the heavy
traffic that is prevalent on our busy roads.
We feel that we need more of these
traffic free rides and will continue to canvass for the opening of bridleways
and the provision of new and upgraded routes. Any assistance that you
could give that would enable the association to achieve these aims would be
gratefully received.
