Sunday the 16th of June dawned as a beautiful, hot and sunny day which was just ideal for the BBA's Treasure Hunt. Volunteers spread over the three starting points of the hunt, clues were put into place and the fun was ready to begin.
Eight teams arrived to battle for the honour of being the winners of the first Treasure Hunt, and not only did they arrive but they brought with them some very imaginative names: Red Tops; Cool Ponies; Breakdown Team; Harricroft's Harlots; Team Storm; Chadwick's Chargers; Legs and Co and Barrow Bridge Babes. Obviously everybody was out to have a really good time and they certainly did just that.
Starting off from one of the three points at Coal Pit Road, Winter Hill Mast Rd or Burnt Edge near Slack Farm the teams found their way around the course, racking their brains and answering the clues until they had completed the course. They than handed in their answer sheets and trotted off home to give their hard working ponies and horses a well deserved rest. Anticipation followed as all waited with bated breath for the results. Now the wait is over - the results are as follows:
FIRST BARROW BRIDGE BABES.
SECOND LEGS AND CO.
THIRD CHADWICK'S CHARGERS.
and a special prize for the most determined competitor
has been awarded to a young man with the drive and ambition to succeed.
KYLE FOSTER
Well done Kyle.

All winners will be contacted shortly to pick up their prizes.
Well done to all teams and a very big welcome to the riders from outside the area who joined us to share in the fun. Remember all equestrians are welcome at our events, whether members or not, all we ask is that safety is foremost and behaviour is sensible.
Finally, many thanks to Joanne Dixon for her hard work in preparing the clues, printing the answer sheets and running around all day keeping the teams on track.
KEEP WATCHING THIS SITE FOR FUTURE FUN EVENTS
AND REMEMBER SAFE AND HAPPY RIDING.
